McAvennie claims Postcoglou is raiding old club to seal third Celtic summer signing
Frank McAvennie claims new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will be eyeing transfers for his former players.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the club’s next acquisitions could come from Yokohama F. Marinos.
Shaw’s deal was agreed in March but the move for Urhoghide came after Postecoglou’s arrival.
The new Hoops boss left Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos to move to Parkhead earlier this summer.
McAvennie claims Postecoglou may have already held conversations with his former players about a move to Celtic.

“He’ll have players in mind, players he’s had before,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Players he trusts but players we’ve never heard of. It’s a quick fix for him.
“If Postecoglou believes these players are good enough then he could easily bring them in.
“I don’t have a problem with it. Some people want the big names but sometimes that’s not the right move.
“We have to have faith in him and see what happens but it would not surprise me if he was speaking to his former players.
“He might have even said ‘see you in a few weeks’ to the lads at Yokohama.”
Shaw impressed against his former side as Postecoglou’s Celtic reign got off to a winning start.
The Hoops beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 during a pre-season clash on Wednesday.
