McAvennie expects Celtic to sign Vuskovic - and explains why 'he's the one'
Frank McAvennie wants Celtic to sign Mario Vuskovic after the club secured the signing of Osaze Urhoghide.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops hitman insists the club need another defensive signing.
On 26th June, Croatian outlet Sprotske Novosti reported Celtic were close to agreeing a £5.16million deal for Vuskovic.
The defender has three years remaining on his Hadjuk Split contract after making his first team debut in 2019.
He has so far made 44 appearances for the Croatian side.

McAvennie has urged Celtic to complete the signing as soon as possible after sharing doubts over Stephen Welsh and Christopher Jullien.
“I have no problem with bringing in boys like that,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“You bring in a few of them and even if one makes it then you’ve done well.
“We need to strengthen everywhere but I want to see the big boys come in.
“Urhoghide might be a talent but I’m looking for Vuskovic from Split. From what I hear, he’s the one.
“They are trying to sign someone who can come straight in. Welsh isn’t good enough and Julien won’t be fit for the start of the season.
“As long as whoever we sign is up for the challenge, I don’t mind who it is really.”
Celtic’s season starts in just over two weeks with their Champions League clash against FC Midtjylland.
The Hoops are currently in Wales going through their pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign.
