McAvennie fears Turnbull is 'fed up' and hints he may quit Celtic
Frank McAvennie is “fed up” of David Turnbull being withdrawn before full-time for Celtic and fears he may get sick of it and want to leave.
The Parkhead legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said John Kennedy’s side “went flat” after the “super exciting” 21-year-old was replaced by James Forrest after 79 minutes.
Turnbull has now failed to complete 90 minutes in 11 of his last 12 league games.
He completed 90 per cent of his passes and created three shooting opportunities in the 1-1 draw against Rangers on Sunday. (Wyscout)
McAvennie claimed Forrest should have replaced Ryan Christie, 26, instead, as he “did nothing” in the match.
“I just do not get it,” he told Football Insider.

“I would be very careful with Turnbull because there will come a time when he gets fed up of it and look elsewhere. He is a super exciting player and he compliments Scott Brown in there.
“I was just a wee bit disappointed when he changed it. He took Turnbull off but he should have gone like-for-like and replaced Christie with Forrest. Christie did nothing in the game, he did not do anything.
“He has never really excelled against Rangers. I am not saying he is a bad player, but it should have been like for like on Sunday.
“We needed a goal and we went flat when Turnbull came off. It has happened before. I am fed up of this fitness nonsense. The coaching staff should have him fit.”
