McAvennie issues 'criminal' Soro claim after Celtic latest
Frank McAvennie wants to see Ismaila Soro start for Celtic when they take on Motherwell today.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, can’t understand the midfielder’s lack of game time this season.
Soro, 23, has only started once in the league this season despite establishing himself as a regular during last year’s campaign.
In April, The Daily Mail claimed Soro was being monitored by Spurs after an impressive run of games for the Hoops.
However, his game time has suffered this season as Celtic made additions to their midfield in the summer.
It seems Soro sits behind the likes of David Turnbull and summer signing James McCarthy in Ange Postecoglou’s thinking.

“I want to see him come in,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is that question mark over his aggression and his discipline.
“I think Celtic need a bit of that in the midfield, a bit of steel. I actually have no problem with the middle of the park.
“The midfield and strikers are fine. It’s the defence that needs fixing.
“That being said, you can always improve and mix things up. I really want to see him get that chance, hopefully this weekend.
“One start in the league is criminal, he’s far too good for that. If he gets his chance he will show his quality, I’m sure of it.”
Celtic travel to Fir Park looking to win back to back away games in the Premiership.
They then face a midweek Europa League clash against Ferencvaros.
