McAvennie: Nisbet has 'great record' but I'm not sure he is the ideal Celtic signing
Frank McAvennie claims Kevin Nisbet isn’t the man to lead the line for Celtic next season.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted the latest on Nisbet’s future.
On 2nd July, The Daily Mail claimed Celtic are interested in signing Nisbet and Football Insider has been told that a £4million bid would persuade Hibs to sell.
Nisbet, 24, scored 18 goals and supplied eight assists for Hibs last season, including two strikes in his three outings against Celtic.
Celtic’s first game of the season is under two weeks away as FC Midtjylland travel to Parkhead.
McAvennie claims Nisbet won’t be able to hit the ground running for the Hoops in their Champions League qualifiers.

“He’s just got his first cap, I don’t know,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Will he walk straight into that team? We can’t have someone who needs a chance or someone for the future.
“We need someone in for now, The game is in two weeks. I’m not sure Nisbet has it.
“He has a great record at Hibs but he would have to get used to the new style of play.
“He’s a different kind of player, I think we would have to adapt to him a bit.
“That will take time. Not ages but not quick enough for him to have an impact in those games.”
Celtic’s pre-season preparations are well underway at their training camp in Wales.
The Hoops beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 during their first pre-season clash on Wednesday.
