McAvennie tips Celtic to axe 'brilliant' Abada and this is why
Frank McAvennie claims Ange Postecoglou will drop Liel Abada when Celtic face Motherwell after the international break.
The Parkhead icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on the winger.
Abada signed for the Hoops in the summer and had a flying start to life at his new club.
He has scored six goals and chipped in with four assists in 15 total outings.
However, McAvennie has not been impressed with Abada’s recent performances and tipped James Forrest to replace him.
“He had a brilliant start,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I look at Abada at the moment and I think Forrest will come in for him.
“He had an amazing start and I was singing his praises but he’s not been at it in the last few games in my opinion.
“Hopefully he has a big international break and recovers some form. He looks knackered.
“Otherwise I don’t think we will be seeing him in the starting side in Celtic’s next game.
“Sometimes you need that as a player. He’s earned a rest because he’s had a great start to life at Celtic.
“But it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s dropped for our next game.”
Forrest could be a like for like replacement and has made seven appearances this season and scored four goals.
The Hoops face Motherwell after the international break as they look to register back to back wins in the Premiership.
