McLeish backs Rangers to seal Bacuna deal after reliable journalist's update on fee
Alex McLeish has tipped Huddersfield to “cash in” on Juninho Bacuna amid reported interest from Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers boss suggested the Ibrox recruitment team may have identified a good value deal in the midfielder.
Journalist Alan Nixon of the Sun has reported (August 18th) Rangers are at an advanced stage to sign the 24-year-old.
It is said the initial fee will be “low” but with the inclusion of appearance-related add-ons.
The Scottish Sun state Rangers have been monitoring Bacuna for the last 12 months.
He is into the final year of his contract at Huddersfield after the Terriers triggered a one-year extension last season.

As such, McLeish suggested Rangers should be able to strike a deal to secure his capture.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s emerged at Huddersfield who have struggled a wee bit at the start of the season.
“They have been a decent side playing at a good level for the last two, three years.
“You tend to feel that they’ll cash in on any of their highest-level players and that it’ll get done.
“It sounds as if he’s catching the interest of the big guns, that’s down to the recruitment people and the analysts at the clubs nowadays.
“They will probably be the guys in the ears of the managers.”
As quoted by Sky Sports, Gerrard confirmed he is hoping to complete the signing of an unnamed midfielder soon.
Bacuna has played 107 times for Huddersfield to date, including 21 times in the Premier League.
He is also a Curacao international, with 10 caps under his belt.
