Medical booked: Everton finalise Patterson deal as club-record bid accepted by Rangers – Sources
Nathan Patterson has headed down south to undergo an Everton medical after Rangers accepted a club-record bid, Football Insider has learned.
The Premier League club have agreed to pay an initial £12million for the right-back, 20, that could rise to £16m with add-ons.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that Patterson is now finalising the terms of a long-term contract and will undergo a medical, most likely in the next 24 hours, before putting pen to paper.

He will become the club’s second big-money signing of the January window following the capture of left-back Vitaly Mykolenko.
Everton announced the signing from Dynamo Kiev in a deal that could be worth up to £17m as soon as the window opened.
He will now be followed to Goodison Park by Patterson, who has been signed as a long-term successor to 33-year-old skipper Seamus Coleman.
Rafael Benitez has made it a priority to strengthen in defence after being forced to use makeshift options on many occasions this season, partly due to the fall-out with Lucas Digne.
Rangers have held firm on securing a fee for Patterson that shatters the previous club record of £9m for Alan Hutton in 2008.
The Scottish giants have secured an initial fee which will help ease their financial concerns after reporting a £23m loss in their most recent set of accounts.
It will be topped up by various clauses, which will be related to appearances and performances.
The deal is especially notable as Patterson is not a first-team regular at Rangers, where skipper James Tavernier is the first choice right-back.

The youngster has made just two Scottish Premiership starts among 11 appearances this season.
In total, the club academy product has only 15 starts in his Gers career among a total of 27 appearances since a debut in January, 2020.
