Everton are in advanced talks to sign Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe on a loan-to-buy deal worth £13million, Football Insider understands.
The Merseysiders have embarked on a late-window signing blitz and are ready to add the right-back to the captures of Moise Kean, Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that terms have all but been agreed with Monaco for Sidibe to join on a season-long loan with the option to buy him permanently for £13million at the end of his stint.
The club have booked in a medical for Sidibe in the next 24 hours as they look to get the eight-figure deal over the finish line before Thursday’s transfer cut-off.
Toffees boss Marco Silva has made a new right-back one of his top priorities this summer and he is now on the verge of landing the highly-rated Sidibe.
Monaco have already begun to plan for life without Sidibe after agreeing a deal to sign Montpellier defender Ruben Aguilar to replace the Everton-bound star.
Sidibe was a member of France’s World Cup winning squad last summer and has won 18 caps for his country.
Everton have loaned out Jonjoe Kenny to Schalke, meaning they needed another right back to compete with first choice Seamus Coleman.
