Medical soon: Arsenal on the verge of club record signing - BBC journalist
By Danny Wright
Arsenal are “close to completing” a deal to make Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette their club record signing, according to a reliable journalist.
BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein claimed on his personal Twitter account on Saturday afternoon that the French international will undergo a medical with the Gunners once the final fee has been agreed.

Lacazette has been linked with a move to the Emirates for some time now, but it now appears that he is finally going to be turning out for the London club next season.
The 26-year-old, who has spent his entire career with Lyon to date, has found the French Ligue 1 all too easy in recent years, and he averaged almost a goal-a-game in the 2016/17 league campaign as he netted 28 times in 30 appearances.
In total, the 11-times France international has 100 goals in 203 Ligue 1 matches with Lyon, who finished fourth in the table last term and, like Arsenal, qualified for the Europa League.

Arsene Wenger has relatively limited attacking options in his squad at the moment, with Olivier Giroud the only player that could be considered as an out-and-out striker, with Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Lucas Perez and Danny Welbeck all adept at playing on the wing.
Football Insider Verdict
What a signing this could be. Arsenal will be shook to the core if they manage to complete a deal for Lacazette, who could be the striker that fans have been crying out for ever since Robin Van Persie left the Emirates for Manchester United in 2012. The Gunners have a brilliant midfield and they have always needed a star striker up front. Giroud is good, but he pales in comparison to the electrifying Lacazette who has scored goals for fun throughout his entire career with Lyon. Fans grumbled when Wenger signed a new deal at the Emirates, but it his potential influence in the French transfer market could have pushed this deal through.
