Medical today: Tottenham agree £18m deal - Telegraph
By Harry Sykes
Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer is poised to undergo a medical at Stoke City on Monday and sign for £18million, according to a report.
The Telegraph claim that Wimmer, 24, travelled to Staffordshire on Sunday in the wake of Spurs’ 1-1 Premier League draw against Burnley at Wembley.
It is said that the Austria international was given the green light to leave White Hart Lane after the two clubs agreed the terms of the transfer, which is made up of an initial £15million plus £3million of add-ons.
Wimmer was not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad on Sunday as new signing Davinson Sanchez made his debut as a late substitute.
Signed for £4.3million from Koln in the summer of 2015, Wimmer’s last appearance in a Spurs shirt came as far back as Ferbuary, ironically in a 4-0 victory over Stoke.

Football Insider verdict:
This is another brilliant piece of transfer business from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. A near-£14million profit on a second-string defender who has showed only glimpses of quality during the last two years is further proof why the club have one of the best negotiators in the business. Tottenham have also been sensible enough to secure an upgrade before offloading Wimmer, with Sanchez arriving in time to make his debut yesterday.
