Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has agreed the terms of a deadline-day loan move to Hertha Berlin, Football Insider can reveal.
The midfielder, 21, is undergoing a medical with the Bundesliga club today after being granted permission to leave Emirates Stadium.
An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that Mikel Arteta has made it clear to Guendouzi he has no immediate future at the club.
The Gunners value the fiery Frenchman at around £30million but have struggled to find a club willing to meet their asking price.
He is now set to depart for the 2020-21 season as he looks to rebuild his career.
Guendouzi has been frozen out of the senior set-up and was training away from the Arsenal first team after a falling out with Arteta.
He has not made a single appearance in the Arsenal matchday squad this season, even for the EFL Cup ties when a weakened side was fielded.
This has paved the way for European clubs to make a move, with Villarreal holding talks over a potential loan-to-buy deal.
Terms could not be agreed and now Hertha having come back in for the central midfielder after first making contact earlier in the summer.
Arteta decided months ago to let go the 11-times France Under-21 international.
The manager was left fuming with the midfielder after he was embroiled in a scuffle with Neal Maupay following their 2-1 defeat to Brighton on June 20.
Guendouzi has made 82 appearances for the Premier League giants, including 34 in 2019-20.
