It would cause quite a stir on Merseyside, but Everton should consider making a move for Liverpool defender in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been frozen out of the first team by manager Jurgen Klopp this season.
The Frenchman was sent home early on the club’s pre-season tour after a breach of discipline and fell down the pecking order under Klopp.
He managed to get a loan deal to Premier League club Crystal Palace in January and his impact at Selhurst Park has been immense.
Sakho’s introduction to the Palace side has seen them record a 100 per cent winning victory and help them get out of the relegation places, with three clean sheets too.
Everton should plan a move for the centre-back in the summer when he returns to Anfield from his loan.
The Toffees currently have four decent centre-back options with Ashley Williams, Ramiro Funes Mori, Mason Holgate and Phil Jagielka.
However, Ronald Koeman has used a back three at times this season and desperately needs to improve his defensive options in the summer.
Sakho would be a fantastic addition to the Everton squad as he is proven in the Premier League and is entering the peak of his career.
It’s not known whether Liverpool would be willing to do business with their fierce rivals, but the likes of Peter Beardsley, Gary Ablett and Nick Barmby have played for both halves of Merseyside.
In other Everton news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter as the club close in on a near-£30million deal.
