Micah Richards has laid into Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi and claimed he is the worst dressed player in the dressing room.
Centre-back Richards was revealing all to supporters from ‘Inside the dressing room’ and was critical of Amavi.
Left-back Amavi, who joined the club during the summer of 2015 from French outfit Nice, has been a regular feature this season.
By contrast, Richards, who joined the club on a free transfer in the same summer as Amavi, has only played three games in all competitions this term.
Nonetheless, the club’s senior player couldn’t help but criticise his teammates dress sense.
“Amavi has got some nasty gear,” Richards told the club’s official YouTube account. “Very bright colours, tracksuits, yellow, pink. I’ll give it to Amavi [as the worst dressed player].”
At the start of the campaign, under then-manager Roberto Di Matteo, Amavi was playing second fiddle to Aly Cissokho.
However, since Steve Bruce arrived in mid-October, the Frenchman has reclaimed his place in the starting XI, with Cissokho moving out on loan in January.
But, Bruce added more strength at left-back in January when Wales international Neil Taylor moved to the club, with the former Swansea man now the first choice.
Amavi has now been utilised on the left wing, mainly because of injuries as was proven during his side’s 1-1 draw at Burton last Saturday.
Bruce will now prepare for a Saturday afternoon clash against promotion hopefuls Reading before taking on Fulham two days later.
In other Aston Villa news, these four academy players should start against Reading.
