Alan Hutton has suggested Michael Beale will want to get rid of "five" players this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Beale has a "massive" task ahead of the upcoming transfer window to try and "fix the problem" at Ibrox.

The Light Blues are set to lose up to seven players who are all out of contract this summer, including first team stars Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Allan McGregor.

Amid the exits, Beale is also looking to add his stamp to the Glasgow club and last month (19 April), claimed that the club are "four or five" signings away from challenging their rivals Celtic.

When asked if the Gers will be able to revamp their squad over one transfer window, Hutton told Football Insider: "It will be very difficult.

"You normally want two or three windows to get your team set how you would want it. The problem with Rangers and Celtic is that you do not get that time.

"It is a massive overturn in players, seven out of contract, three, four or maybe even five that Michael Beale would want to get rid of to free up space for new players.

Rangers

"One of the biggest things is the type of player that he is going for. Young guys that need to come in and hit the ground running, there is no time to get used to it.

"Beale will do his best to fix the problem that he has inherited [at Rangers] so it is a huge summer coming up."
