Michael Owen predicts Liverpool v Arsenal
By Matt Farr
Anfield favourite Michael Owen has backed Liverpool to beat Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Just a single point currently separates the two sides in the Premier League table, with Arsenal heading into the tie only narrowly ahead in fourth place.
However, Owen – who scored 158 goals from 297 appearances for Liverpool – is confident that Liverpool can do the business and beat their rivals.
“Liverpool need to bounce back after their loss at the King Power earlier in the week and it is worrying that four of their five league defeats so far this term have come against sides who kicked off in the drop zone,” he wrote in his blog for BetVictor.
“It is well documented that the Reds have a good record against the top sides, however, and I expect them to do the double over the Gunners having won at the Emirates on the opening weekend of the season.”

Liverpool were haplessly beaten 3-1 by Leicester on Monday night, extending their run to just one win in their last seven Premier League games.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have had a prolonged rest after their clash with Southampton was postponed at the weekend due to the Saints’ participation in the EFL Cup Final.
The Gunners’ last action saw them record a 2-0 victory over Hull on February 11.
The two sides last met at the Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the season in what was a pulsating encounter.
Arsenal took the lead through Theo Walcott after half-an-hour, but four quickfire goals saw Liverpool rush to a three-goal lead.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers attempted to restore some parity to the scoreline, but Liverpool held on to secure a 4-3 victory.
Both sides will be keen to ensure they take all three points away from Anfield on Saturday, with a place in the top four at the end of the season potentially at stake.
As many as eight sides are currently competing at the top, and Saturday’s result could be a defining factor in the final outcome.
