Middlesbrough striker Mitchell Curry is in advanced talks to join Inverness, Football Insider can reveal.

The forward, 19, is heading north of the border to undergo a medical and finalise terms with the club who finished third in last season's Scottish Championship.

A Boro source has told Football Insider that Curry has decided to link up with Inverness as he looks to make a mark in the professional game.

The Boro academy product is an orthodox centre-forward who has played extensively for the club's Under-23s and Under-18s sides, and scored consistently at that level.

The Englishman, who turns 20 next month, has been lured to Inverness by the promise of a key role leading the club's attack as they target promotion to the Scottish Premiership next season.

Curry, who is a pacy forward renowned for his eye for goal, joined the north-east club at Under-15 level and has scored prolifically through the age groups.

He missed most of last season with a serious ankle injury and only recovered in time to play for the Under-23s in the final month of the campaign.
