Celtic will go into the summer preparing for the Champions League qualifiers in July, but the team may well have a few changes compared to the team which played in the qualifiers the previous seasons.
Brendan Rodgers should ensure that any player who is going into the last year of their contract should be sold in the summer. The Hoops don’t need weeks of speculation affecting their players going into the most important games of the season.
Another situation like the one involving Stuart Armstrong last season, who in the end only signed what amounted to a one year extension to his contract, cannot be tolerated by the club.
You either want to play for the Hoops or you do not, and the Hoops can’t risk losing out on good money for players who are undecided about signing a new deal.
It may be annoying to lose some decent players, but it will be more frustrating to lose them for free.
