Mills makes Everton transfer prediction after three deals agreed
Danny Mills has suggested Everton may look to bring in some top-quality signings after “bulking their squad”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back claimed Rafa Benitez’s first three signings will be squad players to start with.
The Blues have added Andros Townsend, Demarai Gray and Asmir Begovic so far this summer.
Townsend and Begovic have been signed on free transfers from Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Toffees paid a reported £1.7million fee to Bayer Leverkusen for Gray.
“Everton are just bulking their squad a little bit,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“They’re bringing in some players who may start off as squad players but if they do well then they may well go into the first-team on a regular basis.
“Townsend’s going to have to come in and prove he can do that, week in, week out.
“Rafa Benitez has come in and brought in some reliable, proven players. Demarai Gray is a little bit of an unknown quantity.
“He’s gone for English-based players and we know what we’re going to get for them. Look at Asmir Begovic who’s come in as the backup goalkeeper.
“He’s gone ‘Right ok, let’s add some solidity to the squad and a little bit of competition for places then we can work our way up’.”
Everton finished last season down in 10th but were just three points behind Tottenham in seventh who qualified for the Europa Conference League.
The Merseyside giants last featured in a European competition in 2017 when they reached the Europa League group stages.
