Mills: Newcastle set for 'massive' boost after confirmed news
The return of Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey after the international break would be “massive” for Newcastle United.
That is the view of ex-England and Premier League defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Newcastle fell to another defeat in the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s side lost 2-1 to Wolves yesterday (October 2) to head into the international break in 19th-place and a point from safety.
Newcastle are one of four sides yet to win in the Premier League and they have earned three points from the opening seven games.
However, Bruce was without star striker Wilson, captain Lascelles and regular starter Shelvey for the trip to Molineux.
The Newcastle boss revealed in his pre-Wolves press conference that the trio should return to action after the international break.

The Magpies host Tottenham, who are struggling themselves, straight after the two-week break.
“Newcastle have a small squad and it’s quite thin,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“To get players back of that quality would be massive. When you have such a small squad, you don’t really have the luxury of a fully fit first-team squad.
“I can’t remember the last time Steve Bruce had a full squad to pick from.”
Wilson has already scored twice in three top-flight games this season but has not featured since the end of August.
Lascelles has missed the previous two games for Bruce’s side with injury.
Meanwhile, Shelvey has been a long-term absentee and has not featured since the 4-2 defeat to West Ham on the opening day.
