Mills: 'Nobody ever talks about' Pickford but he's back to his best amid amazing Everton reveal
Danny Mills has heaped praise on Jordan Pickford for cutting out silly mistakes from his game at Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Premier League defender insisted the 27-year-old is now much calmer between the sticks.
Pickford has now kept four clean sheets in his last five away games after Everton’s 1-0 win over West Ham at the weekend.
He had a quiet day at the London Stadium as the Everton defence did not allow the hosts a shot on target.
In his previous four games, he made a combined 19 saves including seven in their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, as per wyscout.
Asked for his assessment of Pickford’s recent form, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He’s England’s number one, nobody ever talks about him, especially his good performances.

“Everybody’s only interested in mistakes and disasters and who’s the next England number one.
“He’s just doing his job. He seems like he’s calmed down a bit. He’s got a sensible haircut and he’s just a bit calmer.
“That’s all you want from a goalkeeper. Just be very, very good at your job. That’s all you have to concentrate on.
“He’s never let England down and it’s never been an issue.”
Pickford has 30 England caps under his belt but missed the most recent international break with injury and Nick Pope started all three games.
Dean Henderson has also recently been handed his England debut and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone was included in the squad for March’s fixtures.
