Mills tips Goldson to extend Rangers contract on one condition after offers rejected
Danny Mills has insisted Connor Goldson should only pen a new deal with Rangers if it includes a release clause.
The former Manchester City defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Englishman, 28, will be thinking about his next move.
An Ibrox source has told Football Insider that Rangers are hopeful Goldson will extend his deal even though West Ham are plotting a January raid.
The ex-Brighton defender is available to sign a pre-contract agreement in January ahead of a free transfer in Summer 2022.
Ibrox chiefs remain optimistic that Goldson will pen new terms with Rangers.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Rangers rejected multi-million pound offers for the defender in the summer transfer window.

Mills claimed that Goldson holds all the cards in the negotiations, but wasn’t convinced he was good enough for West Ham.
“What we’re seeing now is players signing contracts with a release clause,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“He’s 28, so he’s no spring chicken.
“If the club doesn’t want to put the clause in the contract, then don’t sign it.
“If you’re in demand, whether it be one, two or three clubs – you have the power… but use it wisely.
“When you get to his age, you’re thinking about maybe one last move.
“Whether he’s good enough for West Ham… I’m not convinced.”
The Rangers ace has been almost ever-present since joining but missed a first league match in over two years against St Johnstone last weekend through isolation.
Goldson made the switch to Ibrox from Brighton in 2018 for around £3million.
