Noel Whelan has named Tyrone Mings among the four Aston Villa players Leeds United should be scared about on Saturday.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he was a huge fan of the Villa centre back and insisted he could play a significant role at Elland Road.
Midfielder John Mcginn, winger Bertrand Traore and striker Ollie Watkins were also highlighted as major threats.
Watkins is Villa’s top-scorer with 10 Premier League goals this season, while Traore has netted five.
Meanwhile, Mings has helped the Villans keep 12 clean sheets – the second most in the league.
Whelan admitted Villa have threats all over the pitch and suggested Leeds needed to keep a close eye on all of them.
Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “There’s a number of options in that Villa side, they’re a very, very dangerous team to play against and Leeds will be scared of some of them.
“At the back, they’re solid, I love Tyrone Mings. He’s aggressive, a leader out there and somebody that can hurt you from set-pieces.
“McGinn in the midfield. If he gets on that ball and starts making things happen Leeds United have got a real problem.
“Traore, he’s showing everybody why he was brought there at Villa.
“You can’t look any further than Watkins, he’s been a great buy.
“He’s so busy, so quick, so clever, intelligent. He’s been very unlucky with the chances that he’s missed because he’s hit the post or good defending.
“He is one player that you’ve got to watch for 90 minutes. If you don’t watch him, he will punish you.”
