MK Dons, Lincoln, Fleetwood and Cheltenham in race to sign Swansea star Cullen

Four EFL clubs are chasing Swansea City forward Liam Cullen ahead of January, Football Insider can reveal.

The 22-year-old could be made available for a loan move in the upcoming winter window.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that MK Dons, Lincoln City, Fleetwood Town and Cheltenham Town are interested in Cullen.

The Welshman signed a new contract at the Liberty Stadium in January to extend his stay until 2024.

The striker has made 10 league appearances for Swansea City this season but is yet to score.

Cullen made his senior debut in August 2018 but had to wait until last season for his league bow.

The Wales under-21 international scored his first goal in July 2020 against Reading to help his side earn a play-off spot.

Cullen enjoyed a run of four starts in five at the beginning of this season but has failed to feature from the bench in the last three league games.

Manager Russell Martin has preferred in-form summer signing Joel Piroe to the Swans academy graduate in recent weeks.

The young striker could now take a step down into the third tier in a bid for regular first-team action in a crucial period in his development.

Cullen made his Swansea under-18 bow at just 13 and was prolific during his time in development sides.

The forward struck 16 times in 21 under-18 Premier League appearances.

He also netted 21 times in 50 Premier League 2 games before making the step up to the senior side.

The transfer window opens for business on January 1st.
