Monk makes Twitter pledge to Leeds fans: I'm 100% confident this will happen

By Dominic Toner

Garry Monk is convinced that his Leeds players will give everything in their final three games to get into the play-offs.

The Whites suffered a major setback in their bid for promotion as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves.

Nouha Dicko’s first-half goal proved to be the winning goal and it meant that the Yorkshire club slipped out of the play-off spots.

They are now seventh-placed in the Championship table and behind sixth-placed Fulham on goal difference, who beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Saturday.

Monk has posted an uplifting message on social media and feels that they can still achieve their goal of finishing in the top six.

“No excuses today, but play-off bid is still in our hands. I’m 100 per cent confident these players will give everything in the final 3 games,” Monk wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Monk insists his team will be giving everything in their remaining three fixtures and that starts with a trip to Burton on Saturday.

They then host Norwich at Elland Road on the penultimate game of the season, before an away match at major relegation candidates Wigan.

Leeds have been in the driving seat for a play-off spot for the majority of the season and Monk has enjoyed a fantastic first season at the club.

However, he will need his team to recapture their best form in the closing weeks and improve on their form of one win in five games.
