Morgan Rogers and Jadon Sancho respond as Marcus Rashford lifts La Liga title vs Real Madrid
Morgan Rogers led the congratulations as Marcus Rashford played a huge role in Barcelona’s La Liga title-winning game against Real Madrid.
The former Aston Villa loanee opened the scoring with an audacious free-kick on Sunday, 10 May, with Ferran Torres doubling Barcelona’s lead before the 20th minute, clinching the league title in style.
Many back at Villa Park wanted the Man United outcast to sign permanently last summer, having impressed Unai Emery in 2024-25, but wages were always going to present a problem for the Villans.
Emery could have used Rashford during Villa’s 2-2 draw with Burnley this weekend. However, he was too busy preparing for the El Clasico before lifting the La Liga trophy against Barca’s biggest rivals.

Following the game, Rashford shared a new angle of his free-kick, this time from the stands, simply captioning the video with a black and white chequered flag, likely to signify the end of the title race.
He received likes from all over, including Bruno Fernandes, James Maddison and Arsenal’s Declan Rice, while Rogers replied with several puffing cheeks emojis and Jadon Sancho commented with cold and goat emojis.
Jack Grealish, on loan at Everton from Man City, commented, “Phwwoaaaaar unreal,” to which Rashford replied, “My bro,” with a red love heart. The messages are only likely to continue.
It would appear that the Man United loanee is absolutely loving life over in Spain, but with his deal coming to an end very soon, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the talented winger.
What’s next for Man United loanee Rashford?
Some supporters at Villa Park are still hoping for a magical return for the winger, but it would appear that he wants to stay at the Camp Nou following the 2025-26 campaign.
Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Rashford is doing everything to stay at Barcelona, notching 14 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances during his first campaign in England.
Of course, finances are going to play a huge role in any deal being done this summer. But given United’s desire to get him off the books, a cut-price fee could be agreed ahead of next season.
That is exactly why the Villa supporters remain interested in the 28-year-old’s signature. He has a lot to give still, and a move back to the Premier League wouldn’t be a surprise at all.
