Confirmed: Senior West Ham player unhappy after Chelsea victory

David Moyes has revealed that Joe Hart was unhappy after being dropped for West Ham’s game against Chelsea on Saturday.

In an interview with The Sun, the Hammers boss shared that Hart wants to play but his job is to pick the team that will get the best results.

“I have compassion for the players as well, that’s why it wasn’t easy, but it’s West Ham I have to get results for,” Moyes said.

“Joe wasn’t happy and we will get a response.”

Adrian started the game instead of Hart against Chelsea, keeping a clean sheet to help West Ham win 1-0.

The goalkeeper earned plaudits for performance against Chelsea as well as earning praise for his previous outing against Manchester City.

Hart didn’t play against Manchester City as the loan agreement with his parent club made him unavailable.

Hart joined West Ham on loan in the summer as he wanted regular first-team football in order to make England’s World Cup squad in the summer.

The current England number one faces tough competition for a place due to the performances of Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Southampton’s Fraser Forster.

In the 14 appearances Hart has made this season for the Hammers, he has conceded 30 goals and kept three clean sheets.

West Ham’s leaky defence has left them in the Premier League relegation zone with 13 points.

The Hammers could climb out the relegation zone when they play Arsenal on Wednesday at the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has criticised the club after their surprise 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
