Murty confirms further Rangers deals after January delight - report states five set for exit
Rangers manager Graeme Murty has suggested that the club are not finished in the transfer window despite having already seen five new faces through the door at Ibrox.
The Glasgow club have enjoyed a busy month in terms of both incomings and outgoings, with Sean Goss, Jason Cummings, Russell Martin, Jamie Murphy and Greg Docherty all signing while Carlos Pena, Ryan Hardie and Jordan Thompson have departed on loan.
However the Light Blues’ business is still not done despite the impending deadline on Wednesday, with Murty hinting fans can expect to see yet more deals completed in both direction after revealing his delight at the club’s activity so far.
He told the Scottish Sun: “I wouldn’t say our business is concluded — but that is in both directions.
“The business we have done I am really pleased with. I didn’t expect us to gel as quickly and be as fluid as we have been at times.
“I do think we will improve, but we can expect more from the players that have come in as they become more comfortable with their surroundings, with one another and with me, in terms of what I demand.”
The Scottish Sun state that five of the club’s current players – Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio, Eduardo Herrera and Lee Hodson – could all be set for a departure from Ibrox this month with the Gers reportedly willing to listen to offers for them, with four of the group having been signed over the summer during Pedro Caixinha’s overhaul of the first team squad.
Aside from Docherty, who completed his move to Ibrox on Thursday, all of Rangers’ new arrivals have already featured for the first team, with Murphy, Goss and Martin starting and Cummings appearing off the bench in their 2-0 win over Aberdeen in midweek.
