Celtic supporters have been scathing on social media in their reaction to the news that former Rangers manager Walter Smith has pulled out of the running to become next Scotland manager.
The news was reported by Superscoreboard’s Twitter account, who reported that the one time Scotland boss held talks with the SFA but decided against taking the job once again.

Unsurprisingly the news has been reacted to by Hoops fans, who naturally aren’t too fond of a man who managed their great rivals, with many question why Smith – who has been out of management since 2011 – was even approached for the job in the first place.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the news that Walter Smith won’t be the next manager of Scotland:

The SFA do not have their problems to seek, as not only does their search for a new manager continue but they are without a chief executive following the departure of Stewart Regan.
Hoops fans can now turn their attention back to matters on the pitch, as the Bhoys aim to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle.
A win over the Jags would see the Hoops only three games away from completing an unprecedented second consecutive domestic treble.
