Phil Neville has made a bold claim about Tottenham by stating they produced “the performance of the weekend” from a team in the top six.

Spurs beat Tony Pulis’ West Brom 4-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday with star striker Harry Kane netting a hat-trick.

The north London club moved up to second in the Premier League table and Neville claimed it was more impressive than Chelsea winning 3-0 at the home of champions Leicester and Arsenal demolishing Swansea 4-0.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were beaten at Everton as north-west rivals Manchester United and Liverpool shared the spoils at Old Trafford.

Tottenham fans will be ecstatic at former Premier League defender Neville’s comments on their side, given his wide experience of what it takes to win at title during his Manchester United days.

“Tottenham produced the performance of the weekend for me from a side in the top six,” Neville told Match of the Day’s Facebook page.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are unbeaten on home soil this season after that impressive display against the Baggies.

They ended league leaders Chelsea’s 13 game winning run last time out when a brace from Dele Alli saw them pull off an impressive win.

It means Pochettino’s side have picked up points against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea in north London this term.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Ronald Koeman’s Everton side produced a magnificent performance as they thumped title chasers Manchester City 4-0 at Goodison Park.

Additionally, league strugglers Hull City beat Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth 3-1 on Saturday as they aim to move out of the bottom three.

In other Tottenham news, Danny Murphy has expressed his surprise at how good this emerging star is.
