Newcastle senior duo to be offloaded this summer- report
By Harvey Byrne
Newcastle duo Haris Vuckic and Sammy Ameobi are set to be offloaded by the club this summer, according to a report.
The Chronicle has published an article giving an update of the Magpies men soon to be out of a contract and it includes both Vuckic and Ameobi, stating that are believed to be “moving to pastures new”.
The pair both spent the first half of the campaign on loan in League One with Bradford and Bolton respectively.
However, Ameobi made just four substitute appearances for the north east giants in the second half of the campaign, while Vuckic remained in the Under-23s.
Now, with Ameobi at 25 years of age, while Vuckic is 24 it is unlikely that they will have earned many more first team opportunities, especially with Newcastle making an instant return to the Premier League.

Manager Rafa Benitez will now be looking to bolster his squad in an attempt to help the Magpies remain in the Premier League and the likes of Ameobi and Vuckic simply won’t help them reach their targets.
Football Insider verdict:
At their ages it is quite clear that Ameobi and Vuckic have simply not kicked on at Newcastle after making their way onto the first team scene as youngsters. The pair have spent large parts of their careers for the north east giants out on loan and now is the time for them to move on permanently. Ameobi was considered a success at Bolton this season, meaning he may rejoin them in the Championship next season, while Vuckic could look to move away from England after moving across from Slovenian side Domzale in 2009.
In other Newcastle transfer news, the Magpies are firmly in the running to sign this Leeds player.
