Newcastle United fans are convinced they will land a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi after what he said on England duty.

During Euro 2024, the centre-back took part in a media interview at England's training camp, in which he named St James' Park as the best stadium he's ever played in.

"Excluding Selhurst, yeah? Okay," Guehi said, "I'd say in the Prem, probably Newcastle. St James' Park. It's really, really loud in there, their fans make it really difficult when you go there."

The 23-year-old went on to play in all but one of England's games at the Euros, earning plenty of potential suitors with a move away from Palace on the cards.

Guehi has just two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park, and Newcastle have already made contact about a deal.

However, after his comments about St James' Park while on England duty, many supporters are insisting the deal should be pushed through quickly.

With the clip going viral on social media after news of Newcastle's interest, some went as far as to suggest that the move is already "a done deal".
