Newcastle fans react amusingly on Twitter as 52-year-old handed marching orders

Newcastle fans have reacted hilariously on Twitter after former manager John Carver lost his job with Cypriot side AC Omonia Nicosia.
Carver, 52, took the role in July 2016 after losing his position with the Toon following an underwhelming short spell in charge two years ago after Alan Pardew left to manage Crystal Palace.
Nicosia revealed the news on their official website on Thursday, stating that Carver had left along with a number of his backroom staff, including assistant manager George Simos.
Carver leaves his post with the Cypriot side in a lowly fifth place, and 12 points off leaders Apoel Nicosia after losing five of his side’s 24 league games. Nicosia have failed to finish outside the top five in the last 20 years.
Newcastle fans have reacted comically on Twitter to the news, with many claiming that only a man like Carver could be sacked from a job in Cyprus.

Carver is unpopular with many Toon fans after his dismal spell in charge at St. James’ Park, which saw the Toon survive relegation in 2014-15 by a thread despite taking over with the team in ninth.
Remaining in charge for 20 league matches, Carver one just three times and lost 13 before being replaced by Steve McClaren.
