Newcastle United are in advanced talks to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, sources have told Football Insider

Further negotiations are set to take place on Sunday and a deal could be agreed between the two Premier League clubs in the next few days.

Sources say Everton are holding out for a fee in excess of £25million despite the England international’s contract expiring in June 2025.

But talks have now stalled between the two parties and the 27-year-old is believed to be keen on a move to Newcastle this summer.

Newcastle could sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin after Everton PSR issues

Calvert-Lewin endured a difficult season with Everton after going 23 games without scoring before finding the back of the net against Newcastle in April.

The forward has faced numerous injury problems over the past few years, but he managed to start in 32 of his 38 appearances last season, registering eight goals and three assists.

Sean Dyche’s side are believed to be close to the profit and sustainability (PSR) limit again, with Football Insider revealing last month they will need to sell at least one of their “big” stars before submitting their accounts at the end of June.

Newcastle are now in advanced talks over a deal to sign Calvert-Lewin, but the Merseysiders are holding out for more than £25million to sanction an exit.
