Newcastle lower asking price to £13m for unwanted first teamer - report
By Derek Smithson
Newcastle are willing to let Aleksandar Mitrovic leave St James’ Park for just £13million this summer, according to a report.
Turkish news outlet Fanatik claim that the Magpies want to offload the first teamer in the window and originally wanted around £16million for his signature.
It is understood that they have now dropped that asking price to just £13million in a bid to try complete a deal for the striker.
The report details Fenerbahce are interested in securing a move for the Serbia international, but are keen on a loan deal and not a permanent one.
Mitrovic doesn’t appear to be in Rafael Benitez’s plans ahead of next season when the club are back in the Premier League.

The forward played an important role in their promotion from the Championship during the last campaign.
He made 29 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and supplying six assists in return.
However, he slipped behind talisman Dwight Gayle in the pecking order and was unable to rip up the competitive league as expected.
Mitrovic was one of the players that were relegated with Newcastle from the top flight in the 2015/16 season and he came out of the year with some credibility.
The Serbian made 34 appearances during that relegation and managed nine goals in return in his first year of English football.
Football Insider verdict:
Newcastle should perform a dramatic U-turn and look to keep Mitrovic in their squad ahead of next season. The 22-year-old could still play a massive role at St James’ Park next year if given the chance and his physicality is a vital asset for the top flight. He has already scored goals in the Premier League and has experience in Europe’s elite club competitions. Mitrovic may not have enjoyed the perfect campaign under Benitez, but was still a strong member of the squad. The youngster is only going to improve over time and Newcastle need fiery character in their squad to help avoid relegation next year.
