Newcastle United are planning to loan out Garang Kuol before the window shuts, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old was left out of their 29-man squad heading to Japan for a pre-season tour, indicating he’s not part of Eddie Howe’s plans this season.

Kuol was an unused substitute in Saturday’s win over Hull City and it is believed that Newcastle's plan is for him to be loaned out in search of first-team minutes.

A deal is expected to be arranged for him to be loaned out of St James’ Park within the coming weeks.

The Australia international forward arrived on Tyneside to much fanfare back in 2022 but has failed to live up to expectations.

Kuol was given some game time during the club’s post-season trip in his native Australia but has otherwise struggled to make an impact on the team.

Sources say that the forward is “not deemed ready” for the first-team level, which is why a loan deal is expected to take place.

Newcastle will hope a loan gets Garang Kuol up to speed

Kuol spent last season on loan at FC Volendam and made 17 appearances in all competitions.

He made a promising start by scoring in his third game for the club but failed to register anymore throughout that spell.

The teenager offers versatility to any potential suitors, being capable of playing all across the frontline.
