Newcastle United could be prepared to let Will Osula join a new club on deadline day following their agreement to sign Yoane Wissa, sources have told Football Insider.

At least two clubs are in talks to sign the 22-year-old and have asked Newcastle about his availability on transfer deadline day.

This comes after Eddie Howe's side agreed a deal worth £55million to sign Wissa from Brentford, with Alexander Isak set to join Liverpool for a British record fee.

Football Insider revealed on 31 August that Newcastle were accelerating their move for Wissa and had a growing confidence of reaching an agreement.

With Wissa now set to arrive alongside Nick Woltemade, Osula's future has been thrown into doubt, with multiple clubs aiming to capitalise in the coming hours.

The striker's contract at St James' Park is set to run until 2029, placing the Magpies in a strong position with regard to his long-term future.

Eddie Howe to make Will Osula decision at Newcastle United

Howe has been determined to strengthen his options up front amid the ongoing speculation about Isak's future and his imminent £130million move to Liverpool.

However, Osula has still found opportunities hard to come by, with Anthony Gordon often selected to lead the line in his place, with doubts about his role in the side.

As a result, clubs both in the Premier League and across Europe are keen to explore the possibility of taking him on either a loan or permanent deal.

Bayer Leverkusen are said to be interested in Osula with talks over his future expected to advance before the deadline at 7pm on Monday evening.

Since his move from Sheffield United in 2024, he has played 22 times for Newcastle over just 518 minutes, and is believed to be considering his future.

Conor Gallagher opens door to Premier League return

It has been a busy transfer window with speculation surrounding both incoming and outgoing deals at St James' Park, and there could be more business yet to come.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown revealed on 26 August that Conor Gallagher could leave Atletico Madrid, with Crystal Palace keen to re-sign the midfielder.

Newcastle and Tottenham are also believed to be in the running for his signature should he become available as Howe is believed to be a big fan of his.

Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider last month that Gallagher is open to returning to the Premier League ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
