Newcastle United could accept "breath-taking" offers for Lloyd Kelly this month amid growing interest from clubs across Europe.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that an offer of £15-20million would do the job.

This comes after reports claimed Juventus are stepping up their interest in the 26-year-old after the Magpies turned down an £11million offer from Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, speculation over the futures of Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak has been rife in recent weeks, amid interest from the likes of Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Newcastle remain desperate to keep hold of their best players, but their financial concerns mean they may be forced to cash in should a significant offer arrive.

However, Brown explained that the sale of fringe players like Kelly would strengthen their position to turn down offers for the likes of Isak and Guimaraes.

The centre-back arrived at St James' Park on a free transfer in the summer, and they could now be handed the opportunity to make a significant profit.

Newcastle United plan to raise funds from Lloyd Kelly sale

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that they could receive a "breath-taking offer" for Kelly, "the type you can't afford to turn down".

"I think they'd be open to offers for him," he told Football Insider.

"Whenever we talk about Newcastle, we always have to take profit and sustainability into account.

"They bought Kelly for free, he's been there for six months and now teams want to pay money for him.

"Whether they'll receive a breath-taking offer, you know, the type of offer you can't afford to turn down, well that remains to be seen.

"I think, given their situation, an offer of that type wouldn't have to be crazy money. I think £15-20million would do the job.

"Kelly would do well out of it, too, because he's not been playing much at Newcastle.

"But from what I hear, they'd consider selling most of the fringe players at the club for the right price.

"That would allow them to keep hold of these players who have been linked with big-money moves."
