Newcastle ready to pounce for speed machine loan from top flight champions - report
Newcastle United will be given the chance to sign Chelsea winger Kenedy once again next season if Rafael Benitez remains as manager, according to a report.
The Chronicle claim on their website that the Magpies could seal another loan deal for the 22-year-old speed machine after he arrived at St James’ Park from the reigning Premier League champions during the January transfer window.
The Brazilian forward has made an instant impact on Tyneside, establishing himself as a first team regular under Benitez and scored his first two goals for the club in the 3-0 win over Southampton.
However it is said that a deal between the two sides will only be secured if Benitez is in charge, as he approached the final year of his three contract, set to expire in 2019.
Football Insider verdict
After a quiet first half of the campaign, which was limited to a handful of cup appearances, Kenedy has proceeded to go from strength to strength with the Magpies, and looks a quality player in the top flight. Fans can be pretty certain that if Benitez does remain, he would love to see Kenedy return for a full season on Tyneside after putting in a lot of effort to secure his signing during the current campaign. His arrival would also save on the need for sourcing and negotiating for another winger over summer, with just Matt Ritchie, Christian Atsu and Jacob Murphy able to play out wide otherwise.
