Newcastle 'sensationally' tipped to 'soon' win January race after Dele Alli reveal - pundit

Paddy Kenny claims Newcastle are best placed to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham in January.

The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider,
claims the midfielder can find his best form at a new club.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider the club are willing to let Alli, 25, leave during the January window as he does not feature in manager Antonio Conte’s plans.

Spurs would consider, loan, loan-to-buy or permanent transfer options and Newcastle, the source explained, are among the interested clubs.

Kenny claims whoever signs Alli this January will have a “sensational” player on their hands.

“If someone can grab hold of him then whoever gets him has a sensational player on their hands,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Clearly, something isn’t right at Tottenham. I think he’s needed a move for a few years.

“Alli has to take ownership now and his future is in his hands. If he wants to stay at Tottenham then he can go on loan and prove himself.

“If he wants to cut all ties with the club then he can do that as well.

“Sometimes a fresh start is the best thing for him. I’m am absolutely certain there will be clubs interested in him.

“The obvious one being Newcastle. I can see them coming in for him.

“They are one of the few clubs who have money to burn going into January and could sign him soon.”

Alli has made 14 appearances for Tottenham this season.

He has scored two goals.
