Newcastle star Chancel Mbemba has revealed that the DR Congo squad is preparing well ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifying encounter against Libya.
DR Congo begin their Group A qualifying campaign in two days time, and the Toon’s centre-back is confident that his side can produce a positive result.
The defender revealed on his personal Twitter account that “everything is going well”, as he joins the likes of Youssuf Mulumbu, Yannick Bolasie and Jordan Botaka to represent his country.

As well as Libya, DR Congo face Guinea and Tunisia in what is considered a difficult group to earn the passage into the 2018 edition of the World Cup, which is to be held in Russia.
Former Anderlecht powerhouse Mbemba is already a fully-fledged DR Congo international, with 25 caps already to his name at just 22.
Newcastle’s number 18 signed for the Magpies in July 2015 from the Belgian giants for around £8million, and has since made 41 league and cup appearance for the Championship giants.
This season, competition at St. James’ Park for the two coveted centre-back roles is rife, with the likes of captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Grant Hanley and Jesus Gamez all vying for a place in the side.
Mbemba has made six appearances for the Toon this term, but has failed to feature in Benitez’s last three lineups. Newcastle next play against Brentford on October 15, as the Championship pauses to make way for the international break.
