Newcastle told to complete Ampadu signing after Chelsea latest - pundit
Kevin Campbell claims the loan signing of Ethan Ampadu might be the best Newcastle can hope for in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest Magpies transfer reports.
On August 17th, The Express reported Newcastle are considering loan moves for Chelsea duo Ethan Ampadu and Malang Sarr.
It isn’t possible to sign two players on loan from the same club so Steve Bruce will have to choose between the defenders.
Ampadu, 20, has spent time on loan at RB Leipzig and was relegated with Sheffield United last season.
He is also an established Wales international after making 26 appearances for his country.

Campbell understands Newcastle fans may want a more experienced defender but insisted they shouldn’t read too much into Ampadu’s time with the Blades.
“Sheffield United’s problem wasn’t with the defence, it was that they couldn’t score,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“The only way Ampadu is going to get minutes is by going out on loan.
“For all intents and purposes, it looks like Chelsea rate him highly.
“I can see where the concern is coming from, I’m sure the fans would prefer a more established or experienced centre half.
“But if you don’t have the money, you can’t make those kinds of signings, simple. Ampadu could be a great signing for Newcastle.”
Newcastle’s defence was all at sea in their first Premier League game of the season.
West Ham smashed four past Freddie Woodman who was making his Premier League debut for the club.
