Fans on social media could not believe the "bizarre" amount of injuries suffered by Newcastle United in their 4-3 victory over West Ham.

The Magpies fought back to overturn a two-goal deficit at St James' Park in one of the most remarkable games of the Premier League season.

Alexander Isak opened the scoring from the hosts, but goals from Michail Antonio, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen left Eddie Howe's side with a mountain to climb in the second half.

Newcastle started the match with a packed-out medical room and Jamaal Lascelles joined their lengthy injury list early on after going down holding his knee.

Tino Livramento also headed down the tunnel after a knock to his ankle and Newcastle were also forced to take off Miguel Almiron and Emil Krafth because of injuries despite them coming on as substitutes.

Despite their injury-ravaged squad, Isak's second penalty of the match and two late goals from Harvey Barnes off the bench rescued all three points for Newcastle.

Fans on social media were left stunned by Newcastle United's injury list with some supporters calling it "absurd".

Newcastle's dramatic win against the Hammers keeps the Magpies in with a chance of qualifying for European football next season with the Tyneside club now eighth in the Premier League table.
