Vakhtang Salia could be loaned out as soon as he formally arrives at Newcastle United, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 17-year-old could appear during pre-season before another move.

Salia is set to remain at his boyhood club Dinamo Tbilisi until his 18th birthday in August 2025, at which point he will become an official Newcastle player.

The teenager is seen as an exciting young talent, but there is no pressure on his shoulders from the football club.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the Premier League giants might consider loaning the striker back out for next season.

Newcastle want him to continue developing with regular first-team football, which is why another loan move could benefit him.

Salia debuted for Dinamo Tbilisi in 2023 and has since scored seven goals and provided two assists.

The striker’s performances have also led to him earning call-ups for Georgia’s Under-17s, Under-19s, and Under-21s.

Newcastle’s striking options have been stretched this season due to Callum Wilson’s back injury, with the experienced forward having yet to play a game for the Magpies in the current campaign.

The Magpies will be back in action on Saturday (2 November) against Arsenal in the Premier League.
