Eddie Howe 'will be convinced by the right offer' - ex-Newcastle manager's next job revealed
Eddie Howe is currently taking a break from football after leaving Newcastle United with no set timeframe for his return.
The 48-year-old announced his surprise departure from St James' Park mid-way through their pre-season campaign as he felt his time at the club had come to an end.
He has since been linked with a number of potential vacancies in the top flight, notably including those at Tottenham and Man United, but no contact has been made.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Howe is not currently eyeing a return to the Premier League and does not regret leaving Newcastle.
That is not to say he couldn't be tempted back, as offers will be "inevitable" if managers start to lose their jobs, but he is currently content with spending time out of the game.
Howe's reputation remains strong after the work he did to transform Newcastle from relegation strugglers into a Champions League side, and is highly regarded at a number of clubs.
Where is Eddie Howe's likely next destination?
Football Insider revealed at the start of August that Howe is likely to take a break from football and will follow in the footsteps of former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp has only recently returned to top-level management with Germany after citing health reasons for stepping away from Liverpool, similar to Howe's intention to walk away.
That has led to suggestions that an immediate return is highly unlikely despite clubs planning to make offers, and he may remain out of the game for at least one year.
"Howe won't have any regrets about leaving Newcastle and his reasons for that," Brown told Football Insider.
"It seems like he's perfectly happy being out of the game for now, away from the pressures and the intensity that comes with being a manager in the Premier League.
"So I would be surprised if he was to return any time soon, even though it's inevitable that he will have offers from different clubs who might be in need of managers.
"We're coming up to that period in the season now where clubs start to make these decisions, but I believe Howe is happy to be taking a break and isn't looking to return.
"That could change, of course, and he could be convinced by the right offer because there are a lot of clubs who think very highly of him after what he did at Newcastle.
"But at the moment it doesn't seem like he's looking to get back into it, and I think he'll take a bit more time out before he decides on his next club."
Which clubs could make moves for Howe?
Given how highly regarded Howe is after his work at Newcastle, he will continue to be linked with a number of jobs both in the Premier League and beyond.
Having transformed Newcastle from relegation strugglers into a Champions League outfit, he has been tipped to land a job at a top club such as Man United or Spurs.
Meanwhile, Football Insider reported on 30 September that Celtic could make an ambitious move to lure Howe to Glasgow as they weigh up Martin O'Neill's long-term future.
Celtic could soon be forced into a change if their recent collapse continues after the break, despite having thrown their weight behind O'Neill as things stands.
Howe would be seen as an ambitious target for the Hoops, as he is also believed to have Premier League suitors aiming to lure him back from his extended break.
