Newcastle United likely in '£25m' sponsor talks, Premier League to approve soon
Newcastle United just have the Premier League to convince over their new front-of-shirt sponsor before an announcement is made ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Magies are likely in talks with a Saudi Arabian company.
It has also been suggested that a short-term deal, such as Chelsea's most recent sponsorship with IFS for the second half of the 2025-26 season, is a possibility at St James' Park.
While there are concerns that Eddie Howe's side could head into a new campaign without a front-of-shirt sponsor, the latest news suggests that positive talks are in the works.
Newcastle United in talks over new front-of-shirt sponsor
The news will come as a relief for nervous supporters, and speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has discussed the likeliest value of this new sponsorship.
"The only logical thing is either that it's a very short-term deal, in which case they are negotiating the sort of nuts and bolts of the deal and have not yet got to a point where they can announce it.
"Or alternatively, it's a Saudi deal that's currently in front of the Premier League for approval. I think the latter is more likely, and it would be in front of the Premier League because it would be an associated party.
"Therefore, it has to be fair market value, and fair market value for Newcastle in a non-Champions League season is probably something like £20million, £25million.
"So anything around that sort of number is going to get approved, and and then it'll be good."
Eddie Howe to welcome extra funds at St James' Park
The 2025-26 campaign was an incredibly low one for the Magpies, and Eddie Howe is under great pressure to turn things around next season.
Anthony Gordon has already joined Barcelona, which is a blow to Newcastle's frontline, but the £70million transfer fee is a good start.
Any extra finances from a front-of-shirt sponsorship will surely be added to the manager's spending pot, with supporters desperate for new transfers this summer.
Monaco's Lamine Camara appears to be at the front of the queue for the Magpies, and he will be just one of several signings before the 2026-27 campaign kicks off.
