Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Brentford are exploring moves for Lausanne sensation Omar Janneh, sources have told Football Insider.

Janneh, 20, has impressed at Swiss club Lausanne since joining from Atletico Madrid in January.

The Spanish youth international is also a target for German trio Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Borussia Monchengladbach, as well as Monaco and Anderlecht.

Lausanne don't want to lose their star striker in this window and value him at around £10million after he bagged nine goals in 20 games last season.

Janneh has started the new campaign in good form too, with three strikes in six appearances so far.

The Premier League clubs tracking his services will have to act fast to secure a deal ahead of the 11pm deadline on Tuesday, 1 September.

Janneh spent time in the academies of Espanyol and Granada before joining Atletico Madrid in 2022.

He stepped up to feature regularly for their B team in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring eight goals in 30 appearances in the third tier of Spanish football.

Janneh went after regular first team football by joining Lausanne for around £1.7m in January, and the move has certainly paid off so far.

His goals helped the club stay in the Swiss Super League last season, and they could be about to turn a huge profit on his services less than a year on from his arrival.

Newcastle, Palace and Brentford are each looking to add to their respective forward lines, and Janneh looks to have all the tools to make a positive impact in English football.

Sources: Update on Nick Woltemade leaving Newcastle by deadline

Nick Woltemade exit likely as Newcastle change attacking plans

Newcastle's busy end to the window is showing no signs of slowing down ahead of Deadline Day.

The Magpies are set to add Matias Fernandez-Pardo to Matthias Jaissle's attacking ranks in the next 24 hours after agreeing a £51m deal with Lille.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that fellow forward Woltemade could well leave Newcastle before the deadline as a result of that move for the Belgian.

Juventus are believed to be advancing in talks over a loan deal, while Napoli also hold an interest in his signature.
