Newcastle United are eyeing up a move to sign AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori, sources have told Football Insider.

The England international has been out of favour with the Italian giants and is now expected to leave them as a free agent at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old's deal at the San Siro is due to expire, and that has alerted several clubs in the Premier League to his likely availability.

Sources say that Newcastle still have a move for Tomori firmly "on their radar," having been heavily linked with him ahead of this season.

The ex-Chelsea man is expected to have a wealth of interest if he leaves Milan, and would be widely regarded as "one of the best free agents" on the market.

He made 37 appearances for the Rossoneri in all competitions last term, but has been firmly on the fringes of the squad this time around.

Ruben Amorim to open exit door for Fikayo Tomori

Tomori has been firmly out of favour at Milan so far this season, and has largely been unable to impress new manager Ruben Amorim.

He has enjoyed a slight resurgence in recent days, as he earned his first start of the season in the Europa League win over Red Bull Salzburg, before enjoying a brief cameo against Atalanta last weekend.

His side currently sit fourth in the early-season Serie A table, but he has been unable to convince Amorim that he is worthy of a regular place.

The former Manchester United boss is seemingly ready to open the exit door for Tomori next summer, and that is prompting several Premier League clubs to sit up and take notice.

The defender now has over 160 appearances to his name in Serie A, and also has 32 games of Champions League experience.

Newcastle 'concerned' about Joe Willock signing pre-contract deal

Newcastle 'concerned' about Joe Willock signing pre-contract

Football Insider revealed on Monday that Newcastle are "concerned" by the fact that midfielder Joe Willock has his future in his own hands heading into the January window.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and could potentially sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club without Newcastle having any say this winter.

Besiktas came within inches of signing the ex-Arsenal man in the summer, and are still keen to strike a deal.

Matthias Jaissle is keen on Willock and has used him regularly so far this term, but the decision may ultimatly be out of his hands.
