Atalanta ready to cash in on Giorgio Scalvini
Scalvini has become an increasingly important player for Atalanta in recent seasons, and already has over 100 Serie A appearances under his belt by the age of 22.
He has been on the radar of Premier League clubs in recent transfer windows, but Atalanta have been reluctant to consider the idea of selling him.
However, things could be different this time around, with Tutto Atalanta reporting that the club could move Scalvini on if they receive an offer at the £38.5million mark.
The Italian outlet understands that the Premier League interest in the youngster remains "constant," with Newcastle currently at the "front of the queue" to sign him.
New manager Maurizio Sarri is expected to move to a back four this term, which in turn leaves the door open for Scalvini to potentially depart.
The boss also wants to bring in ex-Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli, which leaves the door open for Scalvini's exit.
Newcastle are waiting in the wings at the moment and are reportedly well-placed to make a move if an exit becomes possible.
Newcastle make concrete Fikayo Tomori approach
Football Insider revealed on Sunday that Newcastle have submitted a concrete proposal to AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori over a possible move this summer.
The England international is out of contract with the Italian giants in June 2027, and will be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee this summer.
Newcastle are long-term admirers of the former Chelsea man, and are set to compete with Coventry City for his signature.
Tomori is another top centre-back target for the Tynesiders, who are now pushing to add to their backline.
