Newcastle United fans have urged the club to pay the money to sign midfield maestro Angelo Stiller this summer transfer window.

Reports have emerged that the Magpies are eyeing a move for the Stuttgart star this summer, who has a release clause of £31.3million.

The 25-year-old has been a regular at the German club for a number of years and made 34 appearances in the Bundesliga last season.

Newcastle are in desperate need of a midfielder ahead of the expected departure of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur, and many fans have now demanded that the club pay the money to bring in Stiller this summer.

The Italian international is expected to move to the North London club for a fee worth up to £100m after a fee was agreed.

Now, fans believe that Stiller would be an excellent replacement as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.

Newcastle fans call for Angelo Stiller signing

Stiller has certainly made a name for himself in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

The German international has been a key part of Stuttgart’s team for the last three campaigns, and even helped the club win the DFB-Pokal trophy in 2025.

Last season, he helped Stuttgart once again qualify for the Champions League, with his reputation in Germany extremely high.

As a result, after Kicker’s report that the Magpies were chasing Stiller, many fans took to X to demand that the club complete the signing, as they search for Tonali’s replacement.

How good is Stiller?

According to Fotmob on 4 July, Stiller was excellent in the Bundesliga in the 2026-27 season.

Per 90 minutes, he was averaging 0.07 goals, 0.16 assists, a 0.24 xA, 1.80 chances created, a 58.3 per cent successful dribble rate and 5.25 recoveries in the German top-flight.

These stats are simply stunning and have clearly helped attract Newcastle’s attention as they look to sign a new midfielder this summer transfer window.

However, it remains to be seen if the Magpies will activate the clause in his contract to bring him to St James’ Park over the next couple of months, or if the club will simply move on to other targets.
